The task of reconciling the 'Picture This!' database and file system is nearly complete! It may take a while longer to get the entire photo library and the accompanying captions humming.
Volume Album Event Rivers Penobscot River W. Branch Penobscot
If you are looking for a good flat-water canoe trip one of the best would be to go to the W. Branch of the Penobscot, below the popular Seboomook roll dams, put in there and paddle all the way down the river into Chesuncook lake to the south end of the lake. Make sure to stop at the small town near the mouth of the river. Takes about 3-4 days depending on your pace and how much you choose to explore. Lots of wildlife, including moose & bald eagles are virtually guaranteed, we saw more moose than i can even count. To stretch the trip out bring your white water boats & run the stretch below the damn (this is where cribworks is found) and then after you can hike Kahtadin. It would be a most excellent trip!
We snuck up on this large bull moose (probably not a good idea), and even when it did discover us it showed little concern for our presence. My dad sat in the stern of our boat laughing at me as I cursed him out for bringing me so close. If you make this trip you will be rewarded with lots of wildlife.
