The task of reconciling the 'Picture This!' database and file system is nearly complete! It may take a while longer to get the entire photo library and the accompanying captions humming.
Volume Album Event Rivers Batiscan River (PQ) July 15-17, 2011
The river dropped from the mid-90's (cubic meters per second) to the mid-70's cms while we covered 27 miles from Friday to Sunday. It was a really purrrrrrfect level!

Day 1: After attending the midnight (opening night) showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Em was not as energetic as usual Friday. Plus the train was 45 minutes late.
Day 1: All aboard!!
Day 1: With John as self-annointed supervisor looking on, the rest of us hauled a fully loaded canoe into the baggage car. I place webbing straps underneath for lifting, as I honestly was worried the gunnels might rip off if we all lifted there. At least one train porter rolled his eye when he realized what we were doing, so I guess this little trick is not de rigueur.

Day 1: We carried to our Friday night campsite along the RR tracks, and in the morning ran the empty canoes down a sneak route through the steep rapid that marks the confluence of the Batiscan and Jeanotte.
Day 1: The hobo camp is open for business.
Day 1: A campfire for cooking and bug deterrence, not because it was chilly.
Day 1: When 3 pitch in to peel and cut up the veggies for dinner, it takes no time at all to feed 7.
Day 1: Frank's new handy dandy water carrier came in handy. And Em's gas stove refresher course was a success.
Day 1: View as the sun set from our campsite. The Jeanotte had plenty of water in it, and John walked upstream on the dirt road that parallels it to check out the class IV features up around the corner.
Day 1: Yessirree! Tuna steaks for dinner!
